Popsugar Prompt #1 – A book that is published in 2020

In my opinion this is one of the easiest prompts of the whole Popsugar Reading Challenge! There are so many good books that come out each year! The challenge of the prompt might be the cost of new books or the long waits of popular new books at the library.

A Book of the Month (BOTM) subscription is an easy way to get your hands on new books. BOTM allows subscribers to get new books at a fraction of the cost. It is $14.99/month and you get to pick any of the 5 books for that month. You can add on up to two books for $9.99 each. I’ve noticed that many of the BOTM books have gone on to be wildly popular.

As of right now, I’ve decided to go with a sequel to a book that I thoroughly enjoyed last year, One of Us is Next by Karen M McManus. She wrote the wildly popular YA book, One of Us is Lying and this is the second book in that series.

This is a really easy prompt to Google or check out lists on Goodreads for, so that’s what I did to see if there was anything out that that I’m excited about or really, really want to read. Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan because I thoroughly enjoyed his Crazy Rich Asian series is being released in July. I’m also a fan of Jodi Picoult and she has the book, The Book of Ways, coming out in Sept.

The Goodreads Popsugar group created this list which has a bunch of good options on it. The book that I read is one of them as well as many other options that are the next in a series.

Checking out online book clubs is another great option, Read with Jenna, Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, Read with MC or many, many others.

Finally, another option is Netgalley where you can request or sign up for access to be able to read books before they are released. I’ll be trying my first one as soon as I finish the Kindle library book that I’m currently reading.

Needless to say, this is an easy prompt. There are suggestions all over the place, social media, websites, talk shows, and this blog 🙂
