It’s a holiday weekend in the US… Independence Day.
This may be a bit of a rambling post… I challenged myself to write daily this month. Doesn’t matter what it’s about, the goal is to get into the habit of writing. I thought about writing a book review, since I just finished The Audacity of Hope by Obama and A Burning by Megha Majumdar. Both are such great books, I want to make sure I have a clear mind when I review either of them. So I decided to just write about the day in general.
We have three dogs so we spend this day trying to wear them out in the morning and then trying to keep the calm as the fireworks start. I have a ton of friends that love fireworks. But after seeing my dog, Doug, in terror as they get bad, I’m a bit over them. I feel like they have a time and a place. Like at the end of the day at a Disney park. In my neighborhood, I hate them.

I will say that ever since we started getting him a monthly Adaptil collar, he’s actually pretty good until the worst of the fireworks. It doesn’t always work for thunder, but it definitely works for fireworks.
Other than watching our dogs, I’ve been either reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower or listening to Tom Hanks narrate The Dutch House.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and I hope that everyone in the US has a happy and safe 4th!!
Happy Reading!!
