I haven’t read for this one yet.
I was originally planning on reading The Outsider
by Stephen King, but it’s over 500 pages and I’m competing against my husband right now… so I need short or fast reads!!
During the lockdown, Colleen Hoover offered a handful of her books, in ebook format, for free, and I picked up Verity (among others)
I’ve started following Colleen Hoover on social media and I just really like her as a person. I’ve only read one of her books, but I really liked it!! I read Without Merit in Nov 2018 and gave it 4 stars. I’ve been looking for a reason to read another of her books, and here it is!!
If you are a YA Fantasy fan, and if you haven’t read it yet, then I highly recommend Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard.
I read it in Feb 2018 and rated it 5 stars. I absolutely loved it. I haven’t read the last book in the series yet because it is a chunky beast!
Another book that I’ve read that would work is Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
I can’t recommend it though. I read it because it’s on the ‘100 books to read in a lifetime’ list. Reading this one and One Hundred Years of Solitude both made me realize that I am not a fan of Realism or especially Magical Realism.
Other books that are on my #tbr include:
A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon
The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides
The Overstory by Richard Powers
The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu
I’m Fine and Neither Are You by Camille Pagan
I’m sure that there are other options out there that I’m not thinking about. It’s hard because with eBooks, you don’t always see the cover. A lot of eBooks open up to the first of the text.
I’m off to get some reading in before I start my nonfiction writing class! I finished my 5th book for the month this AM so I’m winning 5-4 in the reading competition with my husband… but he’s hot on my heels!
Happy Reading!!!
