How the f**k did I miss this series when it came out?!? I mean… I know how. I stopped reading for a few years. I’m not kidding. Life happens sometimes and 2011-2014 life happened hard and I stopped reading. I didn’t really pick up a book again until 2017. Considering how many books I’m reading now, it’s hard for me to believe that I didn’t read a single book in 2015. Even though I read prior to 2011, I really only stuck to a couple of genres and an handful of authors. Now that I’m reading across all genres, I realized that until 2017, I missed a lot of really kick a** books!
I am 100% addicted to Sarah J Maas and her fantasy series! I flew through her A Court of Thorns and Roses series and the same is going to hold true with her Throne of Glass series.
I love that her books are a touch of magic, a touch of reality, a touch of fantasy. I LOVE that her books feature a strong female main character who kicks some serious butt.
Throne of Glass was published Aug 2012 by Bloomsbury. It is the story of Celaena Sardothien an assassin in Erilea. She was captured and thrown into the prison camp, Endovier. The Captain of the Royal Guard, Chaol Westfall, and the Crown Prince, Dorian Havilliard, retrieve her to compete to become the Royal Assassin to the Crown. Chaol becomes her trainer and Dorian her sponsor. Along the way she must face many challenges both in and out of the competition. She befriends a strong Princess warrior, Nehemia and develops a nemesis, Kaltain Rompier.
It is such a fun story and I really enjoy Sarah J Maas. I’m definitely a fan!!!
