My husband has stolen my identity!!!!

We are ten days into the month and my husband has read more books than me! He has read five books to my three. I’m the reader… not him. That’s who I am. I love books…. lately they’ve been my lifeblood. Now… my husband is the reader… he’s read more books this month than me!!! He says it’s all my fault. I don’t know what to do with myself… if I’m not the reader of the family, what am I??

I quick my job in Jan, not realizing that the US and it’s economy would change so drastically the following months. That meant that we needed to be careful about our spending. He told me that he had finally finished reading/listening to the Game of Thrones series… which are ridiculously long audio books. He read a paper book and started the Kindle edition of Dune and I recognized that the one Audible credit he got per month from his subscription wasn’t going to be enough.

I’ve been a member of my local library since I moved into my current home in 2016. I love print books but during the quarantine I have taken full advantage of the Libby app and have checked out many audio and Kindle books from my library. I decided it was time to introduce my husband to it. I signed him up for a library card and then had him download Libby to his phone.

The Libby app is very intuitive and he easily knew how to get hold of the books that he wanted. Now he constantly listening to them! He said if he hadn’t shown him the library, he would have only been at 1 or 2 books a month. Now… he has this whole world of free books at his fingertips. The gauntlet has been thrown. He asked how many books I’m going to read this month because he’s going to read more. I told him I have no clue. I don’t know how many I’m going to read until the end of the month. Regardless, he’s got his mind set on reading more books than me this month because he knows that it’ll get under my skin.

So now… we have a fun challenge of who will read more books this month. I told him it would be fun to interview him some time and post his reviews of the books he listens to here. Stay tuned… who do you think will read more… me or my husband.

I understand that there is so much going on in our world right now and I hope that you enjoyed my light hearted post and it made you giggle. 🙂 Happy reading!!
